The Tascam AK-DR70C Accessory package is designed specifically for the DR-70D (and DR-701D) field recorder. You are given a fuzzy windscreen that fits securely over the recorder's built-in mic, a shoe mount adapter, and two 3.5mm stereo mini-jack cables. The fuzzy windscreen should be utilised when filming outdoors to minimise wind noise. The shoe mount adapter can be used to either attach the recorder to a DSLR camera, or to mount a shotgun mic or wireless mic transmitter to the top of the DR-701D/DR-70D case. Last but not least, the two 3.5mm stereo mini-jack cables allow you to connect the compatible Tascam recorder to a DSLR. This means that audio inputted through the DR-701D/DR-70D can be recorder directly to the camera, whilst the other cable can be used to monitor audio from both the recorder and camera with one set of headphones.
