The objective in developing the UltraChrome pigment ink was to combine the long-term and short-term colour stability properties of pigment inks with the colour scale of dye inks. This new colour ink system includes light black as seventh colour, which makes it possible to achieve softer gradations in the case of black&white printing, as well as two types of black ink, matt & photo, ensuring that optimal quality can be achieved on all media types.
